movement, made personal.
Coaching human movement.
For every age. For every body. For real life.

not a trainer. a movement translator.
Everything traces back to one thing.
I don't coach movement in isolated pieces. That's The Appel Way, and it runs through everything I do, adults included.

What working together looks like.
I don't hand you a program off a shelf. First, I watch how you actually move: walk, squat, balance on one leg. That tells me more than any intake form. From there we find what's actually limiting you. It might be balance, it might be coordination, it might be a joint that's not moving through the range it should. We build the pattern, load it properly, and take it back out into your real life. A session that only works in the studio isn't finished yet.

What clients say.
"I never looked forward to exercising but Uncommon Movement made going to the studio fun and engaging. Started with Bronwen from way back and I could feel myself getting stronger over time. There's a real focus on mobility which, given my desk-bound job with long hours, is something I truly need."
Shawna"Uncommon Movement has helped me tremendously since I started 17 months ago. No more knee pain walking down the stairs. My strength is much better and I'm walking taller. Bron has really helped me bring my health and strength to another level. I'm very grateful."
Google review"After a knee operation, I worked with Bron, Dimitri and the team multiple times a week to rebuild total-body strength, agility and control. I'm moving better than ever and staying injury-free."

FAQ
Do I need to be in pain to work with you?
No. Most people I coach aren't injured. They just want to move better before something becomes a problem, not after.
How's this different from a personal trainer?
A trainer builds your fitness. I look underneath that, at how your joints actually work together, before we build anything on top.
How long until I feel a difference?
Different for everyone, but most people notice a change in one specific thing, like a step, a squat, or a stair, within two or three sessions.
Where do we do this?
Uncommon Movement Studio, 23 Cantonment Road, or on-site if that works better for you.
